One of our favorite parts of living in Scottsdale, in the heart of the beautiful Sonoran Desert, is that our hometown is a wedding destination for brides and grooms from all over — which means we get the pleasure of serving couples we would’ve never met in the first place, let alone had the privilege of being at their side on the most important day of their life. Because of the distance, we meet a lot of our couples for the first time via Skype or FaceTime (Jetsons style). Does anyone else remember that show?!  That’s where we met Natalie and Rahil, sitting at our kitchen island. Since we were very pregnant at the time and they’re both doctors, it was a miracle that one of us didn’t get called into the hospital!

From the moment our conversation started, we knew Natalie and Rahil were uniquely special people. Not just intelligent and beautiful, but kind and sweet — and filled to the brim with class. As they told us about every detail of their Four Seasons Scottsdale wedding designed by one of our favorite planners (Kayla with Some Like It Classic), we couldn’t wait to get started! Step one? Having our baby! Step two? The engagement session! Most of our clients (especially the destination ones!) choose the desert as the backdrop for their session as a way to preview what’s to come for their out-of-town guests. It’s our favorite place in the world to shoot, too, so that works out well!

So, on a quick stop to Arizona, in-between wedding meetings and appointments, we trekked into the June hundred-degree heat together for their engagement session — and it was worth every bit of Fahrenheit! It was clear, right from the start, that even though they come from two different backgrounds, there isn’t anyone better for either of them… in the entire world. For Amy’s sake, it’s also a good thing they both come from medical backgrounds, because Amy stepped on a cactus midway through the shoot, and Dr. Rahil pulled out the needles and saved the day!

Natalie and Rahil, you two are truly as beautiful on the outside as you are on the inside. We love the way you love your family, and love the way you love your friends like family, and we felt so honored to be part of that inner circle for the weekend. We hope you love your photos as much as we loved taking them, and that each time you see them, they’d help you re-live the magic of your wedding day over and over again. That, for years and generations to come, you’d see yourselves as we (and so many others) saw you on that day: two beautiful people, in love, at the beginning of their life, ready to change the world… together. Because, it turns out, with people like you, one plus one doesn’t equal two. It equals infinite possibilities.
