We’re so excited to share this dreamy fall Nashville Engagement Session with you today!
Chelsea and Jerrard’s love story is like something out of a storybook. They’ve known each other since middle school. Two lives growing up side by side, never knowing that one day their lives would circle back and join together in the most beautiful way. Their paths always seemed to be connected. Going to the same high school. Sharing so many life experiences, and later, Chelsea’s best friend married Jerrard’s best friend. A match made in heaven.
Years later, those same friends would unknowingly set the stage for a love story that had been waiting patiently all along. They all met up at church together, and Chelsea still laughs when she remembers trying to focus on the message… but all she could think about was him. One glance across the room, and suddenly, she was sixteen again. Only this time, she knew.
They’ve been inseparable ever since.
When Jerrard decided to propose, he planned something that was perfectly them: thoughtful, unexpected, and a little bit country. A private tour of a cow farm. Just the two of them, surrounded by open fields, fresh air and God’s creation. Chelsea had no idea what was coming. When he dropped to one knee, she was completely surprised — and he’d even arranged for a photographer to capture every second. The joy. The tears. The “yes” that changed everything.
It still makes us smile just thinking about it.
Photographing Chelsea and Jerrard’s engagement session felt extra special. Chelsea is a photographer herself, and there’s truly no greater honor than when a fellow photographer trusts us with their love story. She’s also one of our students, and when she shared how our courses had impacted and shaped her business, it meant the world to us. Standing behind the camera that evening, watching her and Jerrard laugh and hold each other close. It felt like a beautiful full-circle moment.
We met at Nashville’s iconic Centennial Park, home of the Parthenon. It was our first time shooting there, and we were instantly in love with the grand columns and timeless architecture. The few days prior had been rainy and gray, and the chill in the air meant we practically had the whole place to ourselves (a rare gift!) It was like the city had paused just for them.
And the fall leaves! Can we talk about the leaves?! We’ve been living in Tennessee for over four years now, but we’ll never get over those golden yellows, deep ambers. Pure magic. Even though many of the trees hadn’t quite turned yet, we found the perfect fall tree and stopped in our tracks. It felt like something out of a dream.
Chelsea and Jerrard made it so easy. They’re kind and warm and just good people. The kind you instantly feel like you’ve known forever. Their laughter came easily and the way they looked at each other… it said everything words never could.
As the sun dipped low behind the Nashville tree line, we wrapped up the session with cold fingers and full hearts. Already counting down the days until their Birchwood Wedding next year.
Chelsea and Jerrard, thank you for trusting us. Thank you for sharing your story, your joy, your love. We left that night feeling so excited to get to capture your big day. It’s going to be here before we know it. But until then, we hope you enjoy a few of our favorites as much as we do!
