We first “met” Natalie and Rahil over Skype about a month before Beckett was born. Since we knew we’d be taking a break from shooting clients working with clients (sounds better!) for a few months, we made sure to schedule their engagement session at the perfect time: Summer. In Arizona. Haha! FORTUNATELY… they’re from Houston, so our 100-degree oven was nothing for them compared to the 100-degree steam room they live in. But, believe us, and at the risk of sounding cliche, they brought the heat… to the heat. From the minute Natalie and Rahil arrived in the parking lot for their sunset engagement session and stepped out of their car, Amy thought, Oh-my-gosh. She looks like she could be Meghan Markle’s sister!
Also, we’ve maybe never (ever) in our career worked with two people who’ve NEVER been in front of a professional camera before AND knew how to absolutely rock a smile and slay a smize without missing a beat. DANG. It was like they’d done it before! Tyra Banks would’ve been so proud! You know who else would’ve been proud? Every judge on Project Runway –– one of our favorite shows! –– because their outfits. were. on. point. They took the Engagement Session Style Guide (the magazine we give to all of our clients as an engagement gift) and RAN WITH IT. p.s. Tim Gunn, if you, or anyone who might even know you a little bit is reading this, let’s do lunch!
Seriously, these two couldn’t have been sweeter. Every minute of our time with them got us even more excited for their Four Seasons Scottsdale wedding this December with the F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S Kayla of Some Like It Classic. Hopefully, on the wedding day, Amy won’t step on a cactus. For as long as Jordan can remember, he’s been telling Amy, “Don’t forget to wear closed-toed shoes to this session!” And, every time, she “forgets.” This was no exception. As we were walking to the parking lot, she got a big chunk of prickers stuck to her foot! Jordan tried pulling them out (and made it worse) before Rahil sprang into action. Because if you’re gonna step on a cactus, having not one, but TWO doctors there really helps!
Natalie and Rahil, thank you for braving the Arizona summer with us so we could take these sunset engagement photos. The desert has never looked so good 😉 Even though we can hardly wait to get you in front of our cameras again, it’ll be like Christmas came twice when we see you in December. Until then, keep smiling those sweet smiles and taking good care of your patients (and each other). In the meantime, we’ll buy Amy a good pair of shoes. But please be prepared on the wedding day anyways. Because if she doesn’t step on something prickly, she’ll probably walk into it. Hey, anything for the shot, right? Big hugs to you both!
