We loved getting to do this Nashville Family Session in the Franklin, Tennessee area for dear friends who are celebrating ten years of marriage.
TEN YEARS! 🥹
It still blows my mind that we photographed Dani and Will’s wedding a whole decade ago… and now we’ve had the chance to capture their beautiful family of six! 🥹
Last time? She was holding a bridal bouquet. This time? “Mom, these are for you!” 🌻
If you would’ve told us back then that one day we’d be chasing our kids (seven between us!) around together in Middle Tennessee, I don’t think we could’ve believed it. But God always writes better stories than we ever could 💛
It’s been such a gift to do life with this crew. Dani’s been a few years ahead of me on the homeschooling journey and has been a steady source of wisdom and encouragement. I’ll never forget meeting up last fall for a field trip to the apple orchard, watching our kids sword fight with sticks, climb trees, and giggle until their cheeks hurt.
The most used phrase in our text thread is probably “Basement hang?☕️” which is code for plz come over for coffee so the kids can run to the basement and turn into superheroes or woodland creatures while we catch up. (Still not over the Christmas play featuring a very pregnant Mary, a very convincing Angel of the Lord, and the world’s most committed donkey 🤣)
So much has changed since 2015. That was the year we shot FORTY weddings, a bazillion engagements, and hosted six in-person workshops. It was such a fast-pace whirlwind. But we still remember Dani and Will’s wedding like it was yesterday.
And now? Ten years later?
Our session was *a little* less romantic than the last one (hi, T-rex noises, tickle fights, spontaneous pauses to study ladybugs, pick wildflowers, and of course, use the potty 😂) but it was just as sweet.
Parenting is a wild, wonderful ride. It’s loud, full, rich, exhausting and so worth celebrating. What a joy to freeze time again and honor a decade of love and legacy.
