We’re SO excited to share this Nashville, Tennessee Maternity Session with you today! It gave us all the dreamy Notebook vibes and we had a total BLAST shooting it. Even though we’ve lived in Middle Tennessee for two years now, it still feels really “new” to shoot here and it makes us feel so inspired to be in a place that’s SO different from our hometown!
This particular session is extra special for us because Melissa and Ryan are friends who feel like family. If they look familiar to you, that may be because we photographed their gorgeous California winery wedding (and their beautiful Arizona engagement session) or it may be because you’re a photographer who recognizes her as part of our AJ Team! Mel wears so many different hats in our business, but her main job is to help us love, care for and serve each student well. If you’ve ever needed help accessing your course, figuring out an order or have a question you need answered, she has likely helped you! She is the sweetest, kindest soul and we’ve been blessed to have her as part of the AJ Family for over five years now!
Even though her real name is Melissa, we’ve been calling her “M-Cat” around here ever since she joined the team (a nickname Jordan gave her early on) and now it feels weird to call her anything else! We love her and Ryan with our whole hearts, so we were elated when M-Cat and Ryan told us they wanted to move to Tennessee too! It’s been such a gift to have them here. We’ve created so many sweet memories together, and they’ve truly been like an aunt and uncle to our kids (M-Cat’s been with us since we were pregnant with Beckett!) and it isn’t unusual for Becks to ask to “have a playdate” with Ryan. Our kids adore them and we’ve just been waiting for the day that they would become parents because they are going to be an AMAZING mom and dad!
When we photographed their wedding, there was this super sweet moment in their ceremony when they exchanged vows and painted a picture of their future: sitting on the front porch looking at the family they’d built. It’s been so special to get to capture each chapter of their love story, and M-Cat couldn’t have picked a more perfect location to celebrate the next chapter in the story of their front porch dreams!
