A few weeks ago, we packed our bags (and Becks!) and jumped on a plane to Long Island, New York for Andrea and Justin’s wedding at The Vineyards at Aquebogue. You might remember Andrea and Justin from their desert engagement session last fall. In addition to living and working full time in Manhattan, Andrea is a student in our online Shooting & Editing Course –– which made photographing her wedding even more special! We love working with our students!
Being from Arizona (where there isn’t much grass!) we don’t get the chance to photograph too many vineyard weddings, so it was a treat for us to get to shoot a completely different landscape. Thankfully, even though rain was in the forecast all week, it held off until just after the ceremony was over. We’ve photographed some beautiful rainy wedding days, we can work with Mother Nature when we have to, but we typically don’t ask for it and are so thankful it held off 🙂
After we photographed their engagement session, we wrote that Andrea and Justin were two of the kindest, sweetest souls. We’d like to add joyful, caring, thoughtful and generous to that list –– among the many positive adjectives that come to mind. Case in point: instead of seating us and the other vendors in a back room for dinner, they sat us at a table in the ballroom WITH THE GUESTS. How sweet is that?! We felt so spoiled. AND THE FOOD WAS SO GOOD. A photographer herself, she knows the way to a weary, wedding-worn photographer’s heart… through the stomach!
Andrea is Puerto Rican, and she and her bridesmaids WERE SO MUCH FUN all together! They brought enough energy and excitement for ten bridal parties. We absolutely loved the flare they brought to the day –– especially the dancing! Jordan’s Greek side loves weddings where there’s a little ethnic spice! The reception was kicked off with Andrea and Justin’s first dance morphing into a a choreographed salsa, and from that moment on, the dance floor was hoppin’ and so much fun to photograph!
Andrea and Justin, we feel so honored that you came all the way to us for your engagement session, and brought us all the way to you for your wedding day. You are as beautiful on the outside as you are on the inside. It was an absolute pleasure to serve you. Thank you for trusting us with your most valuable memories. We hope you love looking back on your wedding day through our lens as much as we loved witnessing it with our own eyes. God bless you both. We wish you nothing but the very best as you embark on the most fulfilling relationship you’ll ever have in your entire life.
