He was standing behind the bar when she walked through the door, drying dishes with a white towel.
He’s shy at first, in a sweet way, so the first time he saw his future bride, he didn’t tell her that she’d caught his eye from across the room. Ian’s an award-winning mixologist, the best of the best among bartenders. It’s his job to make drinks and keep good conversation, not get love drunk and tongue-tied when his customers walk through the door — but Emily wasn’t any other customer. She was his future wife. So, when she walked into his restaurant with one of her best friends (Ian’s sister!), it was love at first sight. They both spotted each other from across the room and never looked back.
Last weekend, Emily and Ian completed the next chapter in their love story, but this time, instead of standing behind a bar surrounded by strangers, Ian stood in front of a small altar surrounded by family and friends. Instead of walking through a door, Emily walked down the aisle. Instead of drying dishes with a white towel, Ian dried his eyes and held her white veil. And instead of mixing drinks and making conversation, they made a promise to love each other forever.
Emily and Ian, we love you both dearly. Thank you for trusting us with your memories. Here’s to many more years of future happiness!
We absolutely loved the custom paper products designed by one of our favorites, Sugar and Type. They were the perfect complement to all of Emily’s beautiful details.
The excitement and emotion in the air was palpable. The look on Emily’s mom’s face says it all.
Once we arrived at Windmill Winery, it was time for Emily and Ian’s first look. It was too sweet for words.
One of our favorites!
After they soaked in their moment together, we spent some time capturing portraits. We LOVE when couples carve out lots of time for photos, and Emily and Ian did just that! We have SO many favorites!
Emily and Ian’s bridal party was so. much. fun. We felt lucky that we got to spend the day with so many great people.
Just before the ceremony, Emily set aside a special time for her dad to see her for the first time. We loved this moment.
As the sun began to set, the guests arrived, and the ceremony began. There wasn’t a dry eye in the place.
The reception took place in gorgeous the lake house, and we swooned over all the personal touches Emily and Ian put in to every detail. The rustic wood from this cake stand was actually cut by one of Ian’s friends and was used in all the centerpieces for the night as well. The whole room was beautiful!
Emily and Ian glowed as they danced for the first time as husband and wife.
The rest of the night was a p-a-r-t-y. These people know how to celebrate!
It was magical day from beginning to end. Emily and Ian, thank you for trusting us to tell the newest chapter of your love story. We are so happy for you two!
