Oh, friends! This is a special one for us! We’re so excited to share this very sweet Nashville family session with you today!
Melissa and Ryan are dear friends of ours (who feel a lot more like family). It’s been such a joy and an honor to be able to capture their biggest milestones (all over the country!) from their desert engagement session to their Temecula winery wedding to their Nashville maternity session. And now THIS! Their newest chapter as not just a couple, but a FAMILY!
It’s hard to believe Melissa started working with our team the week before we found out we were pregnant with our own firstborn baby, Beckett. She’s really been here for every moment of our own journey as parents and has been such a special part of all of our lives. She was one of the very first people to meet and hold all three of our babies, and our kids are so lucky to have a bonus aunt and uncle in her and Ryan. Our kids LIGHT UP whenever they find out they’re coming over. Seeing them with our kids over the years made it so easy to envision them as parents themselves one day, so it just feels surreal that time is here!
Melissa was in our home almost every day for each of our three pregnancies, so she had a unique up-close view of each step of the process. She knew how much we loved our own home birth experiences, and after lots of research and careful thought, she and Ryan decided to bring baby Jackson earth side in their home too! Surrounded by an incredible team of midwives here in Nashville and the best partner she could ask for, Ryan, Melissa was so strong and got the homebirth experience she hoping for. Ryan was an incredible support for Melissa as they journeyed through the intense labor and delivery process together. After Jack’s birth, he needed some extra TLC at the NICU, so they spent a few days in the hospital. Jack was a little warrior (just like his mom and dad!) and it was beautiful to see Melissa abd Ryan enter their new season of parenthood with so much strength and love, even when life kept throwing curveballs their way. We’ve seen these two weather seasons of change, trials and transition, and it’s so clear what an amazing team they are together. Now, we’re so happy to say that precious Jack is home, healthy and thriving! We’re so proud of this sweet family and all they’ve endured in the first few weeks of Jack’s life. It was such an honor to take their first official portraits as a family of three!
Also, can we just say that Melissa’s gorgeous taste + Ryan’s handy man skills made for the sweetest nursery for baby Jack?! It is the cutest space for Jack to grow, and we hope that when he looks back on these pictures in the years to come, he’ll see just how loved and cherished her is!
