It’s Thanksgiving! In the spirit of gratefulness and mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie and all things amazing about today, we took a minute to reflect on all the the little things that we’re thankful for (and some really big things too!)
So without further adieu, we’re thankful for:
– William Wallace the cat, who rolls on his back and asks for belly rubs, like a dog, but with whiskers.
– Blue Bell ice cream, especially when it’s on sale, with waffle cones.
– The ability to binge-watch streaming television, the kind that’s so bad, it’s good.
– Coffee. Specifically, hot skinny vanilla lattes with half the pumps, our diva Starbucks order, which makes us feel better because we get to say the word “skinny” before guzzling down hundreds of empty calories, and loving every second of it.
– Mr. Carson the cat, who misses us like crazy when we walk to the mailbox and back as much as when we’re out of town for a week, and the one who greets us at the door and demands snuggles with the world cutest meows.
– 85 degrees and sunny on Thanksgiving, every Thanksgiving, because this is our home, and while it never looks like a Hallmark card here during the holidays in the desert, we wouldn’t have it any other way.
– Our families. For preschool soccer practice and middle school plays. For big, loud meals around a packed table and for all the little moments in between.
– Our clients, who trust us with their most precious memories, and who invite us to be an honorary part of their families every weekend.
– Friends who make us laugh. New ones and old ones. The ones who make a crackling fire and good conversation our best kind of retreat.
– The photography community. A world we never knew we would be a part of, one that has led us to some of our most valued friendships and memories, and one that is constantly surprising us in the best kind of ways.
– Our marriage. Our greatest gift here on this earth.
– An amazing God, who has kept us healthy beyond logic. One who is gracious and loving, who has sustained us through another year of dream-chasing and people-loving, who has poured more blessings into our life than we could ever deserve, and who is constantly growing and refining us into the people we strive to be.
And lastly, we’re thankful that math was never our strong suit, because it means we can add eleven items to a list that was only supposed to be ten! We are just thankful for so many things. For an incredible year, and for the one that’s ahead. Happy Thanksgiving, friends! We are thankful for YOU!
