One of the reasons we were so excited to settle in to Nashville is that it’s just a hop, skip and a jump away from some of the most unique cities in the whole country, ones that feel so new and exciting to us. Growing up on the west coast, our options within driving distance were super limited. Everything is just way more spread out in the west. But much to our delight, now that we live east of the Mississippi, there are so many new (to us!) beautiful historic cities that are within driving distance or a quick flight! Thanks to our recent move, our travel time to Charleston went from a 5-hour-flight to just over a 1-hour-flight, which especially when you have small children, makes the world of a difference! When we Zoomed with Trinh and Richard about their Downtown Charleston wedding, we immediately started dreaming of doing their engagement session there too. There are SO many gorgeous photo spots in Charleston and we knew we couldn’t possibly hit them all on the wedding day (probably not even on ten wedding days!) so their engagement session would give us an extra chance to capture the charm of the city for them, and give them a chance to get in front of our cameras before their big day.
Charleston is one of our all-time favorite cities. From the dreamy Spanish Moss to the the iconic colored buildings to the warm sandy beaches, it’s just the most incredible combination. Pair that with the sweetest couple, Trinh and Richard, and this job was just pure magic.
Something we love as wedding photographers is feeling like an honorary member of our couples’ families, which couldn’t have been more true for us with Trinh. We met her four years ago when she was a bridesmaid in her sister Mai’s Four Season Scottsdale wedding and we felt so honored that she chose us to be a part of her day with Rich! We immediately fell in love with them as a couple over Zoom last year, and we’ve been looking forward to this session for what feels like forever now! Their session was only 48 hours before their wedding, and we snuck it in after their rehearsal at the church, so it was a crazy busy week for them, but we’re SO glad they squeezed this in because we have SO many new FAVORITES from this session! Trinh and Rich, we could do this session with you guys ten times over, and be just as excited every time! Here’s just a few of our many favorites! We hope you love them as much as we do!
