For the past few years, we’ve hosted a small group Bible study in our living room. Every other Monday night, over hot tea, dark chocolate, warm fires (in the winter) and good conversation, we’ve gotten to know each other, challenge, encourage each other and do life together. Ashley and Brad are a part of that group, and it’s been so special getting to know them as a couple. We truly admire their relationship with God, their marriage and their parenting. Their friendship is such a blessing to us, and we feel so thankful to have them as a regular part of our lives.
Ashley is also an amazing wedding planner in our hometown. That’s where we first met, at a local wedding industry event, probably wearing consignment dress clothes that didn’t properly fit — because cash was tight. At that time, we were elementary school teachers during the day, and putting every extra penny toward making our photography dreams come true. Ashley treated us like we’d been there for years. Like we deserved to be there. Like we belonged. Even though, let’s be real, we probably didn’t. Haha! But that’s just who Ashley is. Someone who sees people and genuinely cares about them. It’s no wonder her husband, Brad, is one of strongest, kindest, most gentle and respectable men we know — and her kids are so special, too. They’re a beautiful reflection of her and Brad.
We love following Ashley on Instagram because she just keeps it real about what it’s like to raise three little kids and does an awesome job encouraging other women as she goes.
Even though we don’t typically do family sessions any more, we couldn’t resist doing an in-home lifestyle family session for our friends to capture this sweet season in their life. Although, we have to admit, they’re all so joyful and photogenic, and their home is so warm, inviting and well-styled that photographing them almost felt like cheating. Lol!
Ashley and Brad, your home and your family are so full of laughter, joy, life and warmth. It’s loud and it’s crazy and it’s fun and it’s beautiful. We loved getting to capture that for you, and we hope that’s exactly what you remember as you look at these photos.
