We just wrapped up our October #AJWorkshop last week, and we have a little confession to make… We never shared the behind-the-scenes of our July workshop! Ah! We feel horrible about it because we LOVE our July attendees! Please forgive us, guys!
We can’t believe we haven’t blogged these yet! Especially because this was our one and only workshop group that got to experience a full-blown MONSOON! Just wait until you see the pictures.
Between meeting some of our friends in Iceland, releasing our Portrait Session Style Guide, Timeline 10 Pack and Template 20 Pack, and being knee-deep in our fall wedding season, it just got away from us! Does anyone else feel like time is just flying by this year?! We just want the world to slowww down for a quick second!
Luckily, the amazing styled shoot from this workshop just got published this week, which reminded us of how much fun we had with this crew. They traveled from all over the country and we couldn’t have been more honored! We had two action-packed days of teaching about all things photography and business, and we can’t wait to see the amazing things this group will accomplish in the coming year!
We still can’t believe this was our TENTH workshop. Two years ago it was just a dream that we hadn’t even told anyone about yet, but God’s used it in big ways to change people’s lives — and we’re so grateful for that. The last three workshops have sold out before we could even announce them on the blog, so if you want to be part of the next group, make sure you’re a pert of our priority access list by signing up here! You’ll be the first to know when we release new dates!
Okay, friends, it’s time! We can’t wait for you to meet our 16 newest alumni of the #AJworkshop! Here they are!
From left to right: Row 1: Kevin, Samantha, Brittany, Alexia; Row 2: Holly, Lisa, Jof, Marissa; Row 3: Kerry, Jenny, Gabi, Sue Ellen; Row 4: Chauntelle, Jennifer, Amanda, and Cindy.
Day 1 started with Jordan explaining the difference between a really good sun tan, and a really bad sun burn.
For Amy, only one of those is possible…
But, she still wanted to demonstrate the proper form to catch some rays!
Since she couldn’t tan — even with a reflector — she decided to embrace her whiteness. And scare people. Like a ghost.
She turned quickly from a ghost to a witch (Hocus Pocus style) trying to suck humans right into her camera.
When Jordan got out of line, she threatened to banish him into the camera.
So he created a diversion.
AND IT WORKED. High five!
Amy moved on to her next victim. As you can see from his hands, he was begging for his life; because he saw her latest victims on the screen. The ones she burned alive.
Her other victims? She took all the color out of them. If I can’t be tan, NOBODY can.
We were all scared we were next. So we started praising Amy to throw her off track. Thankfully, she put the camera down.
And remembered that THIS GUY is her only chance. At babies. With pigment in their skin.
Here we are using expensive camera equipment. To make pirate costumes.
Love these guys!
Come here, ants. I won’t hurt you…
Then, it was time for the desert portion of the styled shoot!
Amy’s spells worked! Because it started to storm…
So we made a run for it! Because that’s a $10,000 dress.
But then we remembered that we keep eight clear umbrellas in our car AT ALL TIMES. Ya know, just in case. It made for some pretty epic photos. You can see those by clicking here.
Day 2 was all about business. First step, guys, get Subway on wedding days.
Because it’s the only thing that’ll keep you full until AFTER the ceremony.
But here’s the thing you have to watch out for…
The way your clothes and hair will smell after you walk out.
ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU PUT THE SUBWAY IN YOUR CAMERA BAG LIKE IT’S A LENS SO YOU CAN SNACK ON IT ALL DAY.
Amy Demos…
Okkkaaayyy. That’s enough, honey.
We catered Chipotle for lunch. So people would smile for head shots. Because they didn’t smell like Subway.
Because imagine trying to get this shot… smelling like that.
We love and miss you all SO MUCH.
