Happy Monday, friends!
We’re working away on the two beautiful weddings we photographed this weekend (which we’re excited to share soon!) but in the meantime, we wanted to share a few photos from our first ever “Demos Desert Tour.” Once we officially became homeowners in December, our first and most important goal was to turn our home office (that we never used!) into a guest room so that we could host sweet friends from all over the country. Last year, we had the privilege to travel ALL over the globe (see posts at the bottom of this one to catch up!) and one of the things that made the biggest impact on us was getting to stay with dear friends who so warmly opened up their home and showed us their city, state, and even country. They made us feel so loved and special, and we told ourselves as soon as we had the ability to make changes to our little condo so that we could do the same, we would! So this is an extra fun post for us! We hosted our first ever out-of-state guests, and we couldn’t have enjoyed it more!
With wedding season in full swing, two workshops and WPPI thrown into the mix, we’d been working around the clock (and still are!) so having four friends in town who can relate to the crazy pace of being a small business owner was so good for our souls. We had “work dates” in the morning, and then spent our afternoons and evenings showing Katelyn, Michael, Annamarie and Caroline our desert home. As you can imagine, when six photographers go anywhere together, a copious amount of photos are sure to follow! And since they were coming from Virginia and Pennsylvania, the scenery was like nothing they’d ever seen before. We had so much fun showing them the red rocks of Sedona, the desert wildlife all around us (as sweet Caroline said, “Wow! You really live IN the desert! Like, it’s right here!”) taking them to our favorite local restaurant and walking them around cowboy country. We were never anywhere too long before you heard the click of a shutter. We stole a lot of these photos from Katelyn James and are so thankful for these memories, and even more thankful for these friendships! So here’s a little look at our first ever Demos Desert Tour!
If we had to pick one photo to encapsulate this entire trip, this would be it! Lots of fun, laughter, and always a camera in somebody’s hand!
You just can’t turn off these photographer brains! We all couldn’t resist shooting each other on our “day off!” But can you blame us? It was way too fun!
As Katelyn says, girls being girls!
Love these ladies!
It was so fun getting photos taken together on our home turf!
The day before we toured Sedona, we gave the grand desert tour of the places we love super close to our home, starting with one of our favorite desert venues The Four Seasons Scottsdale.
We had been in the desert for all of four minutes before poor Katelyn got attacked by a cactus! We didn’t have time to warn her to stay away from the jumping cholla, which was probably our biggest tour-guide-fail of the trip! Next time, we’ll tell people as soon as they walk out of the airport!
She was all smiles though as we enjoyed some signature prickly pear ice tea and chatted the afternoon away!
Before heading out to dinner, we stopped at a desert preserve so that the crew could experience an authentic desert golden hour!
And here’s the only photo we have of all six of us! Taken with a trusty iPhone! Love these people! We can’t wait for the next time we’re all together again!
We l-o-v-e traveling! Wanna catch up with our adventures around the world? You can do that here!
