Oh, these two. There’s been so much to look forward to this year, but, from the start, we knew this wedding would be a highlight of our 2014 season. From the moment we sat down with Ashley and Pete, we loved them. It’s really that simple. They’re two of the kindest, most down-to-earth people we’ve ever met, and given how much they’ve accomplished at such a young age, they couldn’t be more humble or focused on others before themselves. Ever since high school, throughout his entire career, Ashley’s been at Peter’s side, from high school baseball all the way to the big leagues, cheering him on and loving him through good days and bad ones, win streaks and cold spells, injuries, victories, and defeats. She’s been with him through it all. Every step of the way. With Thanksgiving this week, we’re thinking about things we’re thankful for, and one of them is Instagram, as funny as that sounds, because since Pete’s the centerfielder for the St. Louis Cardinals, we were able to follow their adventures together all the way to the National League Championship Series this fall, where they fell just a few games short of the World Series. We’re not baseball fans, but we’re Ashley and Pete fans, so, it was easy to love the game because we love the people who’ve been on one heck of an adventure so much more.
Their wedding at El Chorro in Paradise Valley, Arizona was a dream to photograph. Rachel Troyan at Outstanding Occasions is a design genius and true professional, and with the all-star team of creatives she assembled, it’s no wonder we had such a hard time narrowing down our favorite photos for this post. It was also a challenge because we had Vancouver’s biggest rockstar photographer (and dear friend of ours)in town visiting, and he so graciously volunteered to second shoot with us all day long, from the earliest details to the final dances, and now that we’ve had the luxury of having one of North America’s best one our team for the day, we don’t know how we’ll ever go back. Thank you, Matt Kennedy, for everything. We love you, man.
