“In Italy, they add work and life onto food and wine.” – Robin Leach
We spent four days of our European adventure in Italy, and we quickly fell in love with every nook and cranny we had the chance to visit. From the waterways of Venice to the vineyards of Tuscany, from the hustle and bustle of Rome to the jaw-dropping beauty of the Amalfi Coast, from the history of Pompei to the pizza in Naples, we were sold. We spent our days in Italy eating our weight in gelato, ordering wine with every meal (because it was the same price as water!) and once again finding that our favorite moments weren’t the ones gazing at the big historic sights like The Colosseum, The Leaning Tower or even The Vatican (even though those were fun to see). Instead, our favorite times (when we weren’t eating) were the slow ones. The ones where we got lost on side streets, lost in conversation and lost in a country that reminded that it’s just as important to savor food as it is to taste life.

For those who’ve asked, we been photographing our trip with the Canon 5D Mark III camera and Canon 50mm 1.2 L-Series lens. In hindsight, a wider lens would’ve been helpful! The European streets are tight, the buildings are tall, and the tourists are plentiful! If you need gear recommendations, you can view what’s in our bag by clicking here.
