If you’re reading this on Thanksgiving, you’re might be doing one of a few things…
1. You just rolled out of bed and checked Facebook. Is there anyone who doesn’t?
2. You’re watching the Macy’s parade in your pajamas and feeling nostalgic about childhood.
3. You’re making a last-minute run to the grocery store singing your own rendition of Kenny Chesney’s greatest hit. No hair. No makeup. No problem!
4. You’re slaving in the kitchen over a Thanksgiving feast. God bless you.
5. You’re watching a football game and thinking about how much more exciting the parade was.
6. You’re checking your phone at the dinner table, because someone just brilliantly brought up politics with that uncle.
7. You’re waking up from your food coma… because you haven’t slept that well in months.
8. You’re eating seconds, because calories don’t count on Thanksgiving. Obv.
9. You’re contemplating thirds…
10. You’re standing in the foyer of a home. You’ve got a full stomach. You’re hugging the people you love. And you’re reminded of everything you have to be thankful for.
We have so much to be thankful for in 2013. God continues to bless us with the simple things in life that we sometimes take for granted but can’t imagine living without: each other, our families, and our friends.
So, whether you’re watching a parade or watching football, whether you forgot something at the store or your uncle brought up politics (again!), whether you’re cooking the turkey this Thanksgiving or just eating it, remember that, just like Thanksgiving dinner, life is a mix of the things you love and things you don’t, but it wouldn’t be Thanksgiving (or life) without it all.
