Colton and Arianna got married at one of the most beautiful wedding venues in Arizona, the Four Seasons Scottsdale at Troon North. We were so excited to be back at one of our favorite wedding properties, working alongside a fabulous team led by Jamie from the Four Seasons and complimented by (always) gorgeous florals from Lux Wedding Florist. It was a very different kind of wedding day for us because we were only there for four hours, which is not something we used to do, but as everyone has this year, we’ve adapted to meet the needs of the times.
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, at some point and in some way, all of our 2020 brides have had their wedding dreams changed. They’ve been put in limbo, or in a holding pattern, or postponed, or downsized, or moved, or cancelled altogether. It’s been an emotional rollercoaster. There have ben twists, turns and bumps along the road. In our almost ten years in the wedding industry, we’ve never seen anything like it. Yet, in the midst of so many setbacks and disappointments, we’ve seen something so beautiful in our couples and their families. They’ve rallied, and stepped up, and made the most of it. They’ve found a fresh perspective and focused on what truly matters: each other and the people they love. We don’t want to save much from 2020, but we hope that piece of it stays forever.
The ceremony was on iconic Fountain Terrace with breathtaking views of Pinnacle Peak in the background. A few wispy clouds appeared right at sunset that painted the skies shades of pink, purple and orange –– just in time for the guests to be seated for dinner on the lawn. It was perfectly picturesque. Weather-wise, October is our transition month in Arizona. The evenings (finally!) start to cool off, but the days can, sometimes, still be hot. Fortunately, everyone’s prayers were answered and by the time the ceremony approached, it was very comfortably warm outside.
Arianna and Colton, thank you so much for inviting us to capture your beautiful micro-wedding, and trusting us to capture these special, once-in-a-lifetime moments and memories for you. It was an honor and a privilege. We hope you love seeing your love (and those you love) through our lens, and we pray that, no matter how much time passes, no matter what season of your marriage you’re in, for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, no matter how old or gray you are, these photos will always serve as a teleportation device… that takes you right back to where it all started.
