We can still remember the day it happened. The day Jordan asked the most important question he’d ever ask. The day Amy said the most important “yes” she’d ever answer. The day that determined the path we’d follow for the rest of our lives. Even though it was 2008, more than 10 years ago, we’ll never forget that day, the joy-filled celebration of our engagement, and the anticipation of the time that followed leading up to our wedding day. That’s why we love capturing couples during their own engagement season. A season of excitement, celebration and planning not only for the day they say “I Do,” but for all of the days that would follow. Every time we photograph a new engagement session, all those feelings come rushing right back to us, and Brittany and Nick’s was no exception. We had so much fun getting to know these two and capture such a special time in their life.
When most people think of Arizona, they usually visualize desert and cacti, but one of our favorite things about our state is that you can drive two hours and be transported into gorgeous fall leaves, stunning red rocks and changing seasons! As Phoenicians, the concept of changing seasons is a little bit foreign to us! So when Brittany shared that Nick proposed in the red rocks of Sedona, and that she loved fall colors, we just knew we had to head north for their engagement session. Even with the iconic beauty of Sedona’s fall leaves and red rocks, all we could focus on was Brittany and Nick. We could photograph Brittany’s Kate Middleton-esqe beauty and Nick’s genuine laughter every day!
Fun fact: these two actually found their way to us through Brittany’s maid of honor, Lindsey, who was a bridesmaid in a recent vow renewal we photographed for Courtney and Nick! We love how our amazing community of AJ brides and grooms and their tribes continue to be a part of our lives even after their wedding days!
