Happy Wednesday, friends! Today is the big day!! We’re sharing our favorite 2015 wedding photos! PREPARE FOR IMAGE OVERLOAD!! Consider yourselves warned.
But before we get to the images, we just need to take a moment to stop, breathe and reflect. When we look back on this past year, our hearts are filled with overwhelming gratitude. Why? God blessed us with more than we ever could’ve imagined or hoped for in 2015.
We shot our first wedding together in 2011. We shot only two weddings that year, and used to dream about what it would be like to be full-time wedding photographers. It felt like an impossible, unreachable goal, and yet, here we are.
We photographed 40 real weddings and piled on seven additional stylized shoots at our AJ Workshop this year. We’re living our dream, and we never want to let a day go by where we take that for granted. If you’re doing the math, that means we sorted through nearly FIFTY wedding galleries for this post! Phew! Three things especially struck us:
First, we just can’t believe we had the pleasure of serving forty kind, joyful, beautiful couples. Our AJ Brides (and their AJ guys, of course!). We looked forward to every wedding, every weekend (and sometimes two in one weekend!) even when our bodies were tired, because as soon as we saw each couple, all the energy came rushing right back. Each one is so special to us. We’ve heard it said that when you love what you do, you never work a day in your life. That’s true, at least in part, but it’s equally as important that you love who you work with. We do. This has really become one big family. And, for that, we’re thankful to God, for not just bringing us any forty couples, but the right ones.
Second, we had the privilege of teaming with some of the best wedding planners, designers, event producers, florists, catering managers and other creative professionals, who we couldn’t do it without! From the ladies at Outstanding Occasions, Some Like It Classic, and Imoni Events, to the the beautiful Ashley Gain Weddings & Events and lovely Andrea Leslie Weddings & Events and many more, our state truly has some of the best professionals in the country. We’re honored and humbled to get to photograph their work and thankful for how much smoother they make wedding days run!
Third, we had the opportunity to photograph at the best Scottsdale luxury wedding venues almost every single weekend. From the desert dreaminess of El Chorro tucked into the heart of Paradise Valley, to the natural beauty of The Four Seasons Troon North ensconced in the North Scottsdale mountains, to the McDowell Mountain views of DC Ranch Country Club, our outdoor wedding loving hearts were full. Then, when you add in the most historic Arizona hotels and resorts, like Frank Lloyd Wright’s Arizona Biltmore, a Waldorf Astoria Resort, and the Mediterranean-inspired Royal Palms Hotel, plus the nooks and crannies of the Omni Montelucia, we were in Wedding Venue Heaven (there’s no link to that one!)
Our hearts are full as we look through these images. Over 200 of them!! Friends, we hope you enjoy re-living our favorite 2015 wedding photos as much as we loved photographing them. Here’s to a new year, a fresh start, and all the possibilities in the world in front of us. And most importantly, in front of you!
Have you caught our favorite engagements of this year yet?!
