When we first got married, we never planned on running a small business together. To borrow from the words of Taylor Swift, like ever. Heck, we’d never even touched a professional camera before, let alone ever dreamed that we might one day be wedding photographers! Before Steve Jobs passed, he gave a commencement address where he reflected on his life and explained you can never connect the dots of your life forward, but you can always connect them backward. We just love that. Isn’t that so true? We’ll be celebrating our second anniversary of going full time in this business in just a few more weeks, and while we’ll always have more to learn, we’re already able to connect a lot of our “dots” backward. Trace the moments where God showed up in huge ways. Where He took the wheel. Paved the path. And led us to a rich, challenging, fulfilling life better than we ever could’ve dreamed up for ourselves. Two years in, we see now that there are so many reasons why God brought us to this industry, but one thing is for certain: God has brought us the most incredible, rewarding, life-giving friendships from people we never would’ve met if it wasn’t for wedding photography. People that mean more to us than we could ever express in words. And people who we will treasure long after we all click the shutter for the last time.

We are SO excited to announce that for THE FIRST TIME EVER we’ll be partnering with Katelyn James to put on a LIVE educational event in Fredericksburg, Virginia on June 11th! Ah!!! We can barely stand the excitement! We have NEVER done anything like this (and we might not ever do it again!!)
Our goal is to provide an accessible and affordable educational opportunity for ANYONE who needs that extra burst in their business!! We’ll be tackling marketing: blogging and social media, the two engines that run our businesses. We don’t pay for traditional advertising and believe that word-of-mouth is the most powerful way to build your business, and in these six jam-packed hours, we’ll be sharing exactly how we do just that.
