We clicked play on the remote. And the marriage DVD started. For two hours, we sat in a living room with six other couples and listened to our favorite marriage author teach about marriage. How to love each other more. How to respect each other better. During discussion breaks, we talked amongst ourselves.
We got vulnerable and talked about what we love about our spouses. Where we’ve struggled or stumbled. How we’ve excelled and succeeded. We shared our hearts — and it was great. For our marriage. And everyone else’s.
No one forced us to be there. No one forced anyone to be there. We all went because we want something more from life. Something uncommon, significant, and lasting.
We never want our marriage, our friends’s marriages, and our clients’s marriages to just survive.
We want them to thrive.
That’s our passion and why we love what we do.
That’s why we write so freely and openly about our life. We want to be more than wedding photographers. We want to be marriage photographers. We’re in it for the long haul with our clients, our friends. Because, just like the DVD, we’re the ones who get to be there with them when they press play on their marriage for the very first time.
If you want to beat the odds in your marriage, if you want to shatter the statistics, then join us on this marriage adventure. Do something uncommon this weekend, start your own set of pink slips, read a good marriage book, but do something that disconnects you from technology but presses play on your marriage again.
Happy Friday!
