Oh, friends! We are SO excited to share this Alys Beach Family Session with you today!
If you’ve been around here for a while, you know how much we love Annamarie, Ryan and Gray. They’re like family to us and some of our favorite people on the planet. Among the many things we share, a deep love for travel and exploring new places is one of them. When we think back on all the adventures we’ve taken together over the years, we feel so incredibly thankful. Almost every time we’re together, we start dreaming of the next place we’re going to visit, and it’s so fun to think about how many destinations we’ll check off our bucket lists together as the years go on. We’ve been swapping sessions with each other for years as we travel, and have shot each other in some of the dreamiest locations, like The Cotswolds in England, Venice, Napa, the monuments of D.C., (Scottsdale, of course!) but this might be our FAVORITE of all the places we’ve photographed! Alys Beach in Florida! It felt like we were walking the white-washed streets of Greece (without the jet lag!) It was a serious photographer’s paradise.
Our biggest problem was massive decision overwhelm. In our current season of having two toddlers and a nursing baby between us, time is always limited, so when you combine limited time with a gorgeous location, you get an over-excited photographer who’s quickly shouting “Okay! YES! I love this! Next spot! Let’s keep going!” over and over again and galloping forward at a laughable pace. We’re so happy with what we got and just love these images so much!
As we were culling this session, we knew we were going to have a lot of favorites and were trying to “narrow” down our favorites for the blog, and still ended up with SEVENTY favorites (!) Seventy was our “pare down” number! Haha! I guess that’s what happens when you put some of our favorite people in one of our all-time favorite locations! We can’t end this post without mentioning this session was a true team effort. Big shoutout to Jordan for staying back with Becks and Em so that Amy could focus on shooting, and shoutout to the real MVP, Aunt Carol, who came along to help get the cutest smiles out of Gray and give him breaks so Amy could sneak in a few photos of Anna and Ryan alone too! Amy could’ve photographed this session a hundred times over and been happy about it every time. A true dream session! We hope you enjoy “a few” of our favorites!
