Happy Friday, friends!

If you’re new to Friday Fun, click here to read the first one before you get started! And if you’re already familiar with Friday Fun, welcome back! Here’s a recap of some of our favorite moments from the week: the small little things that may or may not matter, but nonetheless colored and flavored our week:

— Amy, looking very sad, said, “We can’t go to the movies anymore. We ran out of money.” Because we used our last movie gift card. Jordan told her we might just be able to find a way to make it work.

— Jordan was scrubbing dishes in the sink. Amy was putting them in the dishwasher. Until the nozzle disconnected. And, like a firehose, sprayed. All. Over. Amy.

— We finally sprang for Spotify Premium! Seeing as we stream HOURS of music every day while we’re working in the office, we finally justified it to ourselves. And it. has. been. so. worth. it.

— Our house looks like a winter wonderland! We got our Christmas decorations up early this year… and have spent every day since trying to stop the cats. From taking down ornaments and carrying them off. To dismantle them.

— We had three days at home where we didn’t have to be ANYWHERE. And we might not have showered. Or changed out of our sweats. Don’t judge.

— Speaking of movies, we saw two this week! Which is more than we’ve seen in the theaters all year! We’ve committed ourselves to making time for “downtime” in December and we are loving it. First we saw Mockingjay, the fourth and final movie in The Hunger Games series, which was a little underwhelming. But let’s be real, we needed the closure. We’ve been with Katniss from the beginning. And we went with great friends, so it made it really fun anyways. We knew we’d like Spotlight (and it was excellent, by the way) from the moment we entered the theater, because it was just us. And a few senior citizens. The most telling sign we’re in the right place.

— Amy’s sweet mom gave us an early Christmas gift: a Yankee Candle called Gingerbread Cookie. It smells so good, but also begs the question: When is Trader Joe’s going to create a Cookie Butter scented candle? Or maybe we should…

— On the topic of sugary Christmas goodness, we started drinking hot chocolate at night. We started with water, upgraded to warm milk (way better!), and couldn’t believe it when Jordan sat his mug down, looked down, looked up, and Mr. Carson had drank. The. Whole. Thing.

— More food for thought… A friend made us homemade lasagna — which Amy usually doesn’t like — but she ate it and LOVED it. That’s a win for her Italian heritage, we think.

— We went to church (in person) for the first time in a few months. And it felt so good. With our hectic work and travel schedule, we’re not home (or physically capable of getting out the door) a lot of Sunday mornings, so we watch online instead. Which isn’t as good! But it’s the best we can do sometimes. So being there in person was good for the soul.

— A bunch of people sent us a picture of this. We’re thinking of starting a GoFundMe account to pay for it.

— Jordan ratted Amy out on Facebook for not updating her iPhone apps. Or computer. Ever. Are you an updater or do you have enabler who does it for you? People started taking side ( Team Amy vs. Team Jordan). The problem: Jordan wanted to be on Team Amy!

—  We feel thankful that we’re on a first-name basis with Mike, our UPS delivery man. He wears a cute hat and a smile, and always says hello to us. It feels very small town. We’re getting him a gift for Christmas. Any ideas? We were thinking a #DemosSandwich (and a gift card).

— Confession: we’ve been eating baked potatoes for lunch… and dinner. We hadn’t made them in FOREVER, but when they went on sale for Thanksgiving, we bought an entire bag for 79 cents. The trick: rub olive oil on the outside, sprinkle (or cover 😉 it with salt, poke a few holes in it with a fork, set it directly on the rack, and bake it at 400 degrees for an hour or two (depending on the size). Then, dress it with fresh cheddar cheese, Greek yogurt (because Jordan’s Greek and it’s a little healthier than sour cream), and top it with chives. YUM!

— Jordan’s been working standing up. In the kitchen. With his laptop on the counter. For the past few days. He claims it’s for his back. Amy thinks it’s so he’s closer to the microwave… where re-heats his coffee multiple times. Every hour.

— We got our sixth anniversary photos back from our FABULOUS photographer (and friend) Annamarie Akins! We shared them here yesterday, and now we’re plotting how to build more walls in this house for all the frames we’re going to fill. It rained hard on us right before we started the session for less than two minutes, then it cleared up. Anna did an amazing job of not making us look like drowned rats the entire session. But she also sent us this. And we love it.
